I was walking down a little walkway next to the canal in Venice one day. I was looking for the slip yard where they build and repair gondolas when I came across an open door to a small shop. Inside sat a mask maker at her work. She was creating the most beautiful Venetian masks. And yes I did find the gondola slip yards further down the canal.
