Saint Brendan (Brendan the Navigator and Abbot) celebrating Mass on his seven year voyage bound for Paradise AD512-AD519. He thought he had landed on an island, which turned out to be a giant Sea Monster. They sailed past islands with rivers of gold fire and great pillars of crystal. They finally arrived at the promised land of Saints. (Novascotia) Awed by what they had seen, they returned to Ireland rejoicing.

A tail of salvation, monastic obedience and the faith required to undertake such a pilgrimage.
